Ruining your childhood one song at a time

Lore: I just learned something totally amusing and insane! The "Mahna Mahna" song made famous by the Muppets started out in the soundtrack to Svezia, inferno e paradiso (1968), a softcore pornography film! It was apparently used as the backing music for a scene involving lesbian BDSM! I completely need to see this movie! And yet, it doesn't seem to be on sale anywhere. I've said this before, but something has clearly gone wrong with capitalism.

Update: My friend Sean has alerted me to the existence of the trailer on YouTube. Warning: contains boobs and butss [sic]. Also warning: Does not contain the Mahna-Mahna song.

...Really, what else can I add to that?

You know - when the Dr Pepper commercial that used that tune came out, a friend of mine told me the same thing... that the song was originally part of the soundtrack for a porn flick...

I know that the Muppets often had dual humor - stuff the kids would get, and other stuff that would fly over a child's head, but that the parents would find hilarious... (watching the old Muppet shows now as an adult is sometimes a real eye opener, now that you get some of the humor you missed as a kid)

I wonder if this was known by the entire production team, and was on purpose, or did someone "sneak it in" because folks just did not know where the song came from?
