Well, there's been a meltdown or two the last couple of days. The home WLAN went through a massive reorganization and I'm trying to get things running at acceptable speeds with the new router. I may end up having to make an emergency trip to Staples for 50 feet of cable and a crimper, but let's hope it doesn't come to that.
The CJOnline trivia team defended its title at the library on Friday -- unsuccessfully, sadly. Bad omen when half the team gets waylayed by a flat, christening the group "Team Goodyear." And of all the categories to get -- Greek letters!! -- I get a brainfart and forget lambda. Sigh. And how can I not know the technical term for a root canal? Ffft. So we got third -- a distant third -- but that means we got the mugs and not the gift certificates, so we were really victorious. Most notable exchange of the night was JJ and Corey's disagreement about what an alien abduction was, a close encounter of the third or fourth (respectively) kind. JJ, as per usual, was wrong. Corey reminded him of this a few times and will continue to do so, I'm certain.
Saw "The Village," liked. I'm a sucker for M. Night, I guess. Meh. Sue me. Also liked the premiere of "Justice League Unlimited," mainly for the "omigod that's _____!"-ness of it. The new Mr. Terrific! Sweet!
