Anna Nicole Smith dead. I'm not sure this counts as a tragedy -- how much pity can you feel for a person who has so much and wastes it all in this almost-perpetual train-wreck of a life? This seems like the only way she could ever graduate from punch line to sad statement about modern celebrity....

Holy crap! I was actually quite fond of Anna Nicole Smith. She was a cartoon, but I always thought there was something weirdly magnificent about her. I'm stunned that she's dead.
