Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings once more, erica_roo, but Variety's saying that Jericho will not return for a second season. Which, even though I didn't watch it, makes me sad -- it was different, and that's enough of a virtue on network TV. There's just not enough eschatological television anymore.

Oh well... I'm probably to blame. I stopped watching months ago... I was going to catch up on cbs.com, but now I don't have to. I'll settle for past seasons of Buffy and Angel any day and twice on Sundays.

The reviews on TWOP seemed genuinely enthused about the more recent episodes, which gave me hope. I confess to checking in once in a while just to feed that youthful hunger I had for apocalyptic fiction.

It genuinely got really good in the second half of the season when the writers started acting more realistic about the prospects of a post-boom America. Like "oh shit not everybody can eat."

CBS managed to piss off a whole bunch of viewers by doing this... given that they ended the season with a cliff hanger. The posts on the official site are cracking me up. They've gotten 26,000 people to sign a petition... like CBS is going to care what 26,000 viewers want. Poor viewers.
