Seriously? That was great fun.

Personal favorite bits:

-- House!Jack
-- Jack beating the living hell out of Ben
-- Danielle beating the living hell out of Ben
-- Seriously, anytime Ben gets hurt is just bonus
-- HurleyVan FTW
-- Dark!Sawyer
-- Bernard!
-- Killing spree Jin!
-- Charlie saving the day via music
-- Desmond with speargun
-- Body count!
-- Elderly Walt!
-- Danielle meets Alex!
-- Ben baffled as to why anyone would not believe him
-- Did I mention beating up Ben?

And, of course, the whole idea that they are rescued, and that there apparently is a price to be paid in it -- is next season going to be told in the same format as seasons 1-3, but with flash-forwards instead? And does Desmond's presence and interaction with the survivors make that future variable? I hope so; I like the potential there.

Much stronger ending to the season than the beginning. I remember thinking that the revelations of the season opener were dramatic -- and yeah, to that point, they were substantial. This, though? Way to shake up the franchise.

The last half of this season was a lot stronger than the first, some great moments, a few answers, and as always, more mysteries and WTFery.

I'm like Locke, I have faith in my show. ;)

Charlie is dead! WHOOOOO!

I had to go out and drink after it was over because my sober brain could not take it all in... and I missed some due to a phone call and power outage. But when I saw who he met... my jaw hit the floor and stayed there... WHA!!!?

You answered the phone? Color me surprised. I wouldn't have touched it, myself. And yeah, I was waiting for the power to flicker right before she got out of the car....

Astonishingly, [livejournal.com profile] beeform nailed that they weren't flashJacks inside the first minute. Good eye. I shouldn't have confirmed it for her, though. I'm bad.

I only answered because it was Mike and I'd been waiting for him to call... had it been anyone else, I would have sent them straight to voicemail.

Yeah, totally missed the flashJackforward bit. But I wasn't paying as close attention as I should have been. I'm going to watch it again tonight since I taped it.

I guessed the flash forwards pretty quickly as well. Don't know why (someone -- you? -- had said watch the first ones closely), but I just didn't think they fit anywhere else in continuity and just seemed like it had to be jumps ahead.

So the question is who died and who's Kate with? And, man, I so wanted it to be Des dying, not Charlie. Not that that scene made much sense. Why not just shut off the switch and then both of them go swim up to the surface? Color me confused. (Other than Charlie felt like he had to die so just went ahead and did it even though he didn't have to.)

I think I've developed a fatal antipathy to Matthew Fox that prevents me from watching or enjoying this show when he's on the screen. Pity.

Anything with Desmond, Sayid or Hurley is still good, though.

BRUTHAH! I can see tha FYOOTCHAH!

I like that this was not specifically a Jack-, Locke- or Sawyer-centric episode -- most of the ensemble got their chance to shine, except Claire, Kate, Sun....
