US citizens who apply for a job will need prior approval from Department of Homeland Security under the terms immigration bill passed by the Senate this week.

Has anyone who's been charting post-9/11 America tracked the point where we crossed "hysteria" and entered "comedy"?

The comments on that site are breathtaking.

I'm gonna wait to hear about it on the Daily Show before I panic. :)

Luckily, big business won't stand for it.

It's one thing to make people fill out a form requiring ID; a form that requires waiting on Homeland security is going to be more than Walmart will be willing to stand for. If this even passes the House, I don't think it will be enforced (except possibly selectively).

Mere civil liberties will get trampled; but impeding business is unlikely under the current administration.

I was under the impression that it's been comedy since nineteen seventy six and it's now heading downhill into pure farce.
