If anyone just can't get enough of the drama-llama of the year (please let this be the high watermark),
stewardess has an excellent autopsy of the entire Strikethrough 2007 experience (via
gloomchen). I can't vouch for its absolute veracity, but it does have the texture of plausibility about it, and it's cynical enough to be true. Interesting reading, true, but a topic I'm sick to death of already....

Yes, I'm sick of it, too, but I don't think it's dead. I think, like
I think the whole experience highlighted for me in stark relief what I both like and heartily dislike about LJ. The inertial entrenchment of LJ, being so huge and bloated, has never felt like "home" to me, despite finding some very good friends here.
I do think she's right: the flailing panic had the complete stink of "Oh noes! Our beautiful money!" about it.
One of the things I'm really disgusted with seeing right now is the "blame the victim" mentality that says, "Well, you wouldn't have anything to worry about if you weren't doing something WRONG," that makes me want to strangle people.
But, anyway, boring, temporarily over and I have to go to work soon.

Just so. I list extended breast feeding and co-sleeping in my interests. I also happen to like some types of porn. How long before someone decides what I'm doing is WRONG based on my saying I think breast feeding is good, it's ok for kids to bunk with mom and dad if they need to, oh, and I'm a healthy adult and I like sex? Doesn't mean I do all three 'interests' in the same place at the same time.
