Topeka Capital-Journal publisher John Fish has resigned. This comes two months after the resignation of executive editor Will Kennedy.

I love it when this is one of only two stories I hear on the local bit of public radio, the other being a four-minute long Amber Alert.

This would be the top dog at the CJ, someone whose genetic code actually spells out "micromanagement."

Damn, that's funny. Yeah K.Adams called me yesterday to tell me the news. Fish is heading for sort of my neck of the woods -- Naples (holy gawd, if he can afford to live there, I want his salary....). What's the reason you heard for resignation? (Post in a locked post perhaps?) K didn't really tell me why, other than it's likely a political thing. Will gone so Fish has no lackey to boss around.

Funny, the promised statement on the website never came. And it's been a full day since the radio had it and no other news outlet in Topeka has breathed word one. Dammit.

My first suspicion is it's a political thing (KA did give you the inside scoop on Will's resiguhmwhatever, yes?), but the alternate theory is less pleasant. F-locked post to come, after Simpsons with the pigs.
