I saw the most spellbinding segment on SportsCenter following the death of Bobby Fischer, and I tried to record a re-airing of it, but I missed it.

Fortunately, this gentleman blogged about the segment's first airing over two years ago. An absolute must-read.

Edit: YouTube clip from ABC News. But it's hard to watch, to see someone so...either engrossed in his own naked hatred or just simple madness.

Yeah...in the newsroom, they were watching K-State's Big 12 tournament breakdown in 2003 on ESPN Classic. I'm like...WHY WOULD YOU WATCH THIS? Do you LIKE torture?

Completely off-topic but I felt you could use a laugh.

(BTW-I finally found my way to Dole Hall. Interesting place...they have the comps over there with Leopard that I get to work with this semester, so that could be interesting. However, they said on KATS that the class was going to be in Kedzie 204. Then, while we standing outside the classroom, someone came over and informed us that it had been moved. Grand moment when I found out that I had to trek back across campus when my class before it had been in Leasure.)

Was that Dr. Simon's class? Kristin was asking me if 16 people could fit in 204A and my thought was "yes, if they're stacked like firewood." But otherwise no, 12 on a good day can fit in there. (There are three iMacs in 208 with Leopard, but we only have 20-odd licenses for it right now. At least pay-for-print works with it now. Now if pay-for-print only worked.)

I haven't been in Dole in years. Not since I started working on campus again. That's just not my domain. Do not want.

And gah, you couldn't pay me to watch that. There are limits to my masochism and I think they end at tech support.

Even worse...K-State is playing Colorado on ESPN Classic. Eesh.

Nah, it was Convergence with Stacy Neumann. I'm actually excited for this class...it really sounds like a lot of fun. If I thought I had the time, I would do the military assignment (they get to go on the fort and video their training exercises) but there's no way. I don't know what my group is thinking so far but our idea of doing segments on the equestrian team (both of my team members are big in the Collegiate Horsewomen association...and I have all of those wonderful connections with sports information that it would have been easy to get it set up) was shot down, so I have no idea what we're doing yet.

Okay, the one piece of advice from the first convergence class: do not give up in the first two weeks, because it will be a lot of work, but it will pay off. And it might be "fun," I guess, if you're particularly masochistic or just...a journalist...but it'll be intense and rewarding, I think.

And Stacy's just awesome. I like her much.

Yeah, I remember seeing that. Made it real hard for me to feel any remorse when he died. So I didn't even bother to try.
