The last 10 minutes were better than the rest of the game. I was actually at this guy's house and he was rooting for the defense. It was hilarious.

I honestly kept fluctuating between the two poles. There's maybe one or two other teams I'd less like to have seen in the Big Game, and there were ample reasons for me to go either direction. I did finally pick a side, though, and...that's all I should say.

Yeah, but were there any decent commercials? I didn't even watch it this year. Jaded... maybe.

Didn't watch the first three quarters. And honestly, tuned in the last quarter more out of preparation for House than the intuition that a football game was going to break out. So I don't know. The Iron Man spot was pretty sweet, though.

See, I thought it was amazing - but I also expected a blowout from the Pats, or as their new name is, "The United States Central Intelligence Agency presents the New England Patriots".

Like I said at the beginning of the playoffs "I have three favorite teams right now and none of them are New England". I hate "dynasty" teams. I hate the team that gets an auto-win. Perfect season aside, when they ran up the score against the Redskins and were pulling shit like fake spikes in the fourth quarter, right there that incurred the wrath of the football gods on Bill Belichick and co.

When the Giants made it through the playoffs, I said "Okay, how cool would it be to have Eli Manning get that ring the year after his brother did?" And they did it.

Taking nothing away from the Patriots - Tom Brady is a fine quarterback, Randy Moss is a great asset, Wes Welker is possibly one of the greatest all-around athletes in the league since Rod Woodson, and their linebacking corps is nothing short of inspirational. They played excellent football - but somehow the Giants pulled something out of nowhere and you got career-making performances out of Manning, Justin Tuck, Osi Yumentoomanyvowels, Steve Smith, Plaxico Fantastico, and to think that in week three, everyone was predicting that Tom Coughlin wouldn't have a job halfway through the season.

That game had no right being that awesome.
