Brett Favre retires. If I'm at all glad, it's only because I'm glad to see him retire relatively intact and also will be glad to have the sports media stop slobbering all over him. Appreciation for the man and his talents is fine; starry-eyed fawning is obnoxious.

My parents are moving to the Green Bay area this year, finally able to go to Packers games without a 2 hour drive...so of COURSE he's retiring now.

We commiserated with other worse scenarios that could've played out: he wasn't carted off the field, he didn't suffer post-concussion syndrome, and best of all, he didn't play to the point where he was no longer atop his game. Off all the QBs in the league now, he's still on my short list of who I'd want under center.
