While I've made my affection for The Onion clear, it's often just a bit brutal. This story is the most heartwrenching -- and shamelessly so, of course -- that you'll probably ever read. (No, seriously, if you don't want to get your heart ripped apart, don't read this.)

When David Mamet called Schindler's List "emotional pornography" (whether you agree with that or not), this is what he meant, just distilled. Emotional pornographic crack, if you will. But with still enough of a core in the human experience to make it profoundly uncomfortable even when you realize the naked manipulation at play.

Schindler's List was a brilliant movie, but one I will never watch again. Some movies are like that--masterworks, but they make you so uncomfortable that watching them again is like torturing yourself.
