All right, f-list, I realized after reading a certain review that I absolutely have to see The Dark Knight. (For the Tiny Lister scene, specifically.) But I need to know how soon to see it. Is this a skip-work thing, a drop-everything-and-go thing, a maybe-when-the-crowds-clear thing? I need to know. I've read many reviews and quick reactions (many of which were simply "I can't form coherent thoughts right now," which is kinda encouraging), and I'd like it filtered through people I understand. And for lack of such, I ask you, the friends-list (ba-dum-ching).

It's a "skip work if you have to" movie. The comparisons to "The Untouchables" and "Godfather II" are apt. You will be floored.

I would say it's definitely a drop-everything-and-go movie.

It's the most complex superhero movie with the most intricate and multi-layered plot I've ever seen. It's going to set a new standard.

Everyone says it's a drop-everything-and-go. I might head out that way tomorrow.

It's a definite Oscar contender, and I say that not in the cynical Crash sense but in the sense of an Unforgiven or Amadeus; it advances the artform.

Skip work.

And yes, the Tiny Lister scene is one of the most affecting in the movie, all the moreso for how it is deliberately and pointedly underplayed.

For odd, complicated work- and schedule-related reasons, I have seen 40 minutes of the movie so far, and my husband has seen the whole thing. Go ahead and see it when you can. (Yes, that does mean skip work if you have to.) I'm anxiously shooting for tomorrow, myself.

For you, this is a go-get-the-next-available-ticket-right-the-frell-NOW thing. You'll like it. It's ... dark.

And yes, the Tiny Lister scene was one of my favorites.

I should really remember to log in first. But I really, really liked it, even more than I expected to.
