Yes, I should've been working on my book last night, or at least the finishing touches on another GDBM. Instead I had the ESPN gamecast of the Monday Night Football game up. The problem: the Manhattan Prettybirds had a 15-point lead going into last night (that's good), and the opposing team had one player in last night's game (that's good), but that player happened to be Jamal Lewis (that's bad). So I'm cringing as I'm thumbing through the box score -- he'd scored one touchdown (that's six points) and rushed for sixty-odd yards (that's six more). And I kept refreshing as Cleveland kept rushing to run out the clock (I totally called them winning it, btw), and when Lewis got 88 yards, then they took a knee to end the game.
If he'd gotten two more yards, tie game. 'Birds win by one after losing last week by one. Thank you, karmic balance.
