I believe in the therapeutic power of picspam, and it's in that vein I unleash these. A bunch are probably repeats, but...meh, it's been a while. Bear with me. And cats, a metric buttload of cats. Ganked from a million different places and no, I don't remember where.
It is, Action Comics #869, and it turned out to be significant for reasons other than originally intended. Pulping the issue and the next issue's events aside, I rather liked it just on its own -- an excellent father/son moment, really.
I kinda love the giant, obviously-last-minute letters shouting, "SODA POP".
I, for one, think it's pretty awesome that a god-tier space lord with phenomenal cosmic powers can just kick back every so often and have a brew with his dad, talking about all the wicked cool shit he's been doing.
The lunar anomaly is Brainiac -- he's the antagonist in this particular storyline.
Interestingly enough, it's the next issue which really hits hard, though when Morrison and Quietly did this scenario in All-Star Superman (and I have reservations on Morrison and normally don't like Quietly's work) -- they hit it so far out of the park it's amazing. All-Star Superman is the biggest surprise I've seen in comics in a long time; it's fantastic.

Second, the turtle eating a strawberry made me happy.
Third, the cats made me even happier.

(PS: The position of the reply on this journal is tricksy. *smacks LJ*)

And there are few moments that really get Cap as well as that one -- yes, it's a Twain quote, but it'd be one Steve would know by heart.

I, too, love the Cap quote and the Kent picture, although I'm trying to figure out what's up with the moon.
