Dude at Caribou Coffee this morning, talking to the girl in line ahead of me:

"I don't want to sound like a racist, but...."

So today's a hot cocoa day.

English major talk: the word "but" negates everything in the sentence that came before. So he might as well not have even said it.

Therefore? Saying "I don't want to sound like a racist, but..." always makes a person sound like a racist. Period.

I think that Obama will will be hated even more than the Clintons ever were, and in a completely irrational fashion, because it will be the fact that he is a good man and will have nothing to hang on him that make them hate him the most.

I'm already seeing and hearing the most horrible and venomous lies coming out now, things that I just simply cannot believe I'm seeing and hearing.

Ugh. Well, I hope no one thought the world was going to come together happily the day after the election. We're still a divided land. Hopefully, though, healing will start.
