At the gun (whenever that is) the score will be Kerry 306, Bush 232. Or for the popular-vote fans, 50-48, with Nader pulling 1 (down 1 from 2000) and "other" another 1. Why? Undecideds breaking for the non-incumbent. That's my best guess. I have no idea. Stab in the dark as to turnout: 119 million.
Also, I sincerely doubt we'll know with a 1996-ish degree of certainty who the winner is, but I also doubt we'll have a 2000-ish wave of confusion. I think we'll have a pretty good idea. (Man, I miss the days when we could say things like "In a few days we'll know who the next president is.")
Anyhow, as long as the Supreme Court doesn't get involved and nobody gets killed, it's still better than most of the world.
