CNN's exit poll says 54% of voters considered the war in Iraq to be part of the war on terror.

The antidote to democracy is the corporation.

Maybe that is why the election was so close, if only 54% realize that Iraq is a battle in the war against Jihadistan. Fortunately, we are a republic and not a democracy.

The results are similar to the 1944 results. FDR won 25.6M to 22M (http://www.presidentelect.org/e1944.html) during a war against evil. The spread is about the same, while the percentages are smaller because of more voters.

...Because Saddam was behind 9/11, right? Because he was such a huge sponsor of terrorism? So that's why the American government overthrew the only secular government in the entire neighborhood which had done an admirable job of quelling Shi'ite fanatics in his country until he was shoved out....

Or is the 9/11 commission lying?

Just who is Jihadistan? Is it a religious institution or just all the brown people?

Jihadistan is what the people at The Federalist Patriot (http://www.federalist.com/) use to refer to all of the Islam militants bent on destroying the West. Therefore, I guess, it is all the brown people, and their supporters, who want us dead.

No, Saddam wasn't directly tied to 9/11 and the administration never claimed that. Deroy Murdock points out (http://www.nationalreview.com/murdock/murdock200410071005.asp) the ties Iraq had to al-Qaeda and uses quotes from the 9/11 Commission.

Saddam was a brutal thug in the area and needed to be taken out. He did support terrorist groups and thumbed his nose at the world for twelve years. The fight started in 2003 was not a pre-emptive strike, but a re-emptive strike. We ended the fight in 1991 with a cease fire agreement. Saddam didn't hold up his end of the agreement so we resumed fire.
