"Bring out the gimp" -- or not

Let me heartily recommend everyone watch the AMC version of Pulp Fiction, especially if you've seen the film before. I expect the humorous redubbings and awkward silences in mid-sentence -- the gimp is entirely excised, but more impressively, the Marvin-in-the-car scene is handled hysterically. Not as funny as the original scene, but funny in its own special way.

And, of course, if you haven't seen it already, well, you probably should, if only to catch up on the references to it on The Simpsons.

I used to love watching edited movies on tv. Pulp Fiction is a fave. Another great moment is the work done to change the name of the bar in From Dusk 'Til Dawn into the "Kitty Twister".

The best TV dubs of any movie is still The Big Lebowski. "You see what happens when you find a stranger in the alps?"

Breakfast Club is also up there, on the strength of changing "Eat my shorts" to "Eat my socks", and adding several scenes for TV. Also, as I recall, Anthony Michael Hall's voice apparently changed in between primary filming and post-production dubbing so that not only is his character's dirty language replaced with faux-swearing, but his voice suddenly drops a half-octave in mid-sentence just for the faux swearwords and then shifts back to normal.
