Focus: you're doing it wrong. Pity the camera doesn't have manual (or, really, any) focus. But you get the idea. Big ear, tiny eye, tired bat. May try to take a real picture of him if he's still around tomorrow -- based on his relatively decent hiding spot, he just might be.

Aww. I'm such a sucker for bats; I love when they spook the tourists back home during the summer, but I'm always having to calm people down when they pop up in daylight, dazed and confused and low-flying.

I wonder if he started slightly higher up, and slipped a little.

From what I've read, not even most of them, but most rabies cases in the US have bats as transmission vectors. (And apparently it's not uncommon for people to be aware that they've been bitten.) But a bat somewhere where it shouldn't be -- say, on an electrical panel in a campus building -- is also a big warning sign.

I hope he's still there tomorrow....

I echo the AWWWWWW. :) I just saw a bat around my place too, after our cold spell finally broke. I wouldnt be surprised if the lil guy was attracted to the soft hum of electricity.
