Oh, I'm sure the dogs don't mind. My husband's family had a giant poodle and she was one of the most laid-back and sweet critters in the world - she would've stood for all kinds of grooming like that so long as you told her what a good dog she was while you were doing it. :)
Hey, people dress their kids up, so why not the family pet? If they like the attention and it in no way harms the animal than more power to them. The only difference between kids and animals is the animal if not humiliated later on in it's teen life when you bring out the photos and show them off to his friends. LOL. The kid on the other hand is an entirely different story. You can blackmail your kids with photos like this.
