So only one game out of the four NFL playoff matchups this weekend had a barely-tolerable outcome. I'll leave you to figure out which one. It wasn't the Chefs swapping Gatorade for cyclobenzadrine, that much I can tell you.

Am done ruminating on the Gabby Giffords shooting; it just makes me ill. MightyGodKing hits the high notes in his analysis/reflection with more salient points and a more thorough connect-the-dots to previous, similar incidents in recent American events than you'll find from a mass-media outlet.

No more weekends like that one for a while, kplzthx.

I was thrilled to see Manning face. That always makes me happy -- and Manning scares me much more than the Jets. Would've liked to see KC win, but oh well.

Don't really care about the NFC. I sort of root for Philly there, but having them out of it probably means less work for me.

No love for Seattle? *g*

When they announced Hasselbeck was back in for this game, all I could wonder was who he's been blowing to keep his spot.

Must have been Drew Brees. *eg*

My love for Seattle -- former AFC West brethren -- is tempered by my disdain for Pete Carroll, who represents a great deal of what's wrong with college athletics -- most notably his ability to accrue multiple violations at USC and fail upwards with zero repercussions. Of course, Reggie Bush carries that banner, too, but at least N'Awlins has Drew Brees, late of the Chargers, who did exceptional work while there, and I was glad to see him finally succeed last year. So, all due respect to the Emerald City, that game did not unfold to my liking.

Still, Marshawn Lynch -- whoa.

The AZ shooting

Good link.

Some century we'll have an effective mental health regime; that's about all that would have helped here.
