There were only seven episodes of my favorite show, and only two seasons of Max Headroom, so let's take a look back at my favorite episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000, through the glories of YouTube, available (in the first of nine parts) above. The featured film is Danger!! Death Ray, a truly bizarre little Italian film with some of the most hysterically comical miniature effects ("Hot Wheels!"), idiosyncratic sound effects ("...THIS MAN!") and some really questionable choices in cinematography, stunt work, and musical accompaniment at virtually every turn. It's earnest and enthusiastic, but simply terrible, and ripe for some good ol' mockery.

The episode features some of my favorite references of all time: "Buckaroo Banzai goes to the nursing home," "Abe Lincoln: Timecop" and "Open up, lattice in" in particular. Most full-length MST3K outings ebb and flow, but this particular episode is pretty much sustained goodness. Maybe not the best MST3K, but my favorite.

Seconded. I LOLed. Because I'm a nerd, just like my old man, and no nerd has ever amounted to anything in the history of Hill Valley!

Skip to 6:15 (I tried to figure out the code to do it, but I'm too dumb.)

For great justice!

This movie gave us Dropo, the laziest man on Mars. Without whom we may never have found out about the terrible secret of space, or that all our base are belong to C.A.T.S.
