There are four Topeka TV stations, in order of ratings. One of those fighting for absolute bottom of the barrel is KTMJ. And I'm just talking ratings. In terms of general quality, I understand why I don't watch it more often.
There are few predictable things in life. One of them is "Simpsons" at 6 and 6:30 p.m. But. My God. I don't have a degree in broadcast journalism, but how hard is it to play a program in sound? With the commercials? (Okay, on this count, ordinarily my complaint threshhold is pretty high. But the following night they made up for it by showing -- I'm not kidding -- an eight-minute commercial break. I couldn't look away. Like a Farnsworth car wreck.) Or, as they managed tonight, first play the 300th episode, then show the silent first two minutes of a different episode, and then replace it with the 300th episode? Again? Back to back? And I couldn't figure out why they were only pulling a 5 share.
Should it be refreshing that not all my mistakes are on display for everyone to see, or should I despair that someone without thumbs or a frontal lobe is getting paid to do this?
(I know I'm being too harsh. I'm just baffled and profoundly disappointed.)
