I like days when I learn something -- I never knew about this before. It doesn't have the enigmatic nature of Tunguska, but it does have the human aspect, which makes it much sadder and much more compelling.... And it does explain why Boston gets a tree each year from the pristine and divine countryside that is Nova Scotia.

Thanks to the wonders of the Internet, Karen has a friend in Halifax. She's wanted to visit her ever since we've gotten closer by moving to Dayton. Haven't done it yet, but definitely will during the remaining two years we have here. Now we'll have to visit some of the explosion sites.
