Ganked here from [livejournal.com profile] dragonscholar:

Take the refrain of a well-known song. Put it through Babelfish in the following manner, then post the results in your LJ for people to guess: English -> German, German -> French, French -> Portuguese, Portuguese -> English.

Dude. You have to try this -- not necessarily guess my own, but you do have to do this to your favorite songs. It makes them that much better.

Mine came out relatively intact, it seems. I've erred on the side of "easy to recognize" and picked two classics (er, well, one's a classic and the other is, at least, old) and one very new. This shan't be hard.

1. necessarily as they believe deeply? they bite the hand that returns? they chew, until purges? they can be arisen distant of your knees? they are courageous sufficient to see? they would want to modify it?

2. For here, I am seated in a box on the world-wide planet the mass is distant blue and I give to it to nothing only me I can make

3. Ray - ampèreheure - king of the impossible one is in favor of each one of us a place of state for each one of us that it with a powerful hand each man each woman each child with a powerful ray stores

Bonus (since a song released this year can't quite count as "well-known"): I say I related to me, cited, cited, it, volume bebé now I mention and to volume another small piece of my heart, rupture that keeps another small part of my heart, favori, yeah. It! they now have another small piece of my heart, bebé, yeah. They know that it received it with effect, if forms you feeling effectively, OH -. orderly!

Is 2 'From a Distance'? I know I ought to know 1, but I can't think what it could be. Hmm.

#1 is the new one. #2 is from a movie. But not a new movie, and not a good movie, that's for sure.

No, wait, my bad. #2 is old. As in 30+ years. But not "from" a movie per se. #3 is from the bad, bad movie.

#1 is so obvious I'm not even going to say it. Suffice it to say, I hear it every three races of 'Midnight Club 3-Dub edition.' It's on the soundtrack ... and what OTHER new music would you be listening to, anyway?

From: [identity profile] sigma7.livejournal.com

#1: Really? I didn't know that. It is my favorite song off the new album, by far. It's very well-constructed and has a nice touch of Broken-era vitriol with the Pretty Hate Machine pop sensibility. And it came out of B-Fish mostly intact. Hell, the title almost did. (And yeah, other than this and that DAMNED MUSICAL ATROCITY BY THE GOO GOO F'IN DOLLS which is played EVERY TEN MINUTES on the radio, what would I be listening to?)

#2: Yup. Our friend the doctor did not get this one. Tsk.

#3: Of course. "King of the impossible" is something of a dead giveaway. People just don't make music like that anymore.
