The story about MTV's plans to ignore music (sticking with one count 'em one new music program) and unveil 16 new reality shows (even The Onion would be a bit more charitable) is repulsive enough. But this quote makes me want to inflict severe pain every time I read it:

“These new series reflect Generation ‘Why Not?’ — living, working and playing on their own terms, ‘adventure capitalists’ if you will, pursuing a variety of thrill-seeking, 2.0, express-yourself enterprises,” says MTV entertainment president Brian Graden.

Yes, that's nine sheets of buzzword bingo filled out in one quote, and double-word score for throwing in "2.0" bereft of context.

Remember when our boss was someone capable of delivering that paragraph with a straight face? No, not that one, the one before him.

I loled thinking about Jim trying to say that. But yes, I think Rob is STILL saying it.

Given the choice between Phil Hartman playing Lyle Lanley in "Marge vs. the Monorail" or the Mayor of the city of Townsville, I'd at least expect the former to be able to spout verbiage with confidence and self-congratulatory energy. The latter...would hurt my soul trying.
