Version .1 of phpNonsense is up and running at the Vanishing Point. VP's my new outside-my-house hosting solution, 'cause my connection is not only unreliable, I'm often downloading or otherwise mucking about on the Internet or otherwise tying up CPU cycles. (I should be converting my sister's old PC to a webserver, but man, I've put that off for forever. There's just something daunting about installing Linux on a Packard Bell. Though if they can get it running on an iPod....)
Anyhow, right now there are four templates up and running: Slashdot (note: this is an old template, so some of the images are less-than-working), Collegian (based on the K-State Collegian page, but it also has changed since and I'm not interested enough to update it), Newspaper (a generic newspaper template) and Resume (simple yet amusing). Note that all of these came with the original Nonsense except Collegian. Reload any of the pages to get new, random content.
There's more info on the phpNonsense page, including how to turn on debugging to see the templating in action (messy).
I figure I've gotten to the point where I'm just about even with Nonsense in terms of execution (if not nice, neat code), and I'm more than willing to take suggestions as for where to go from here. There are a few things I need to tweak -- default issues -- but otherwise, I'm just glad it stops making the browser throw up in my face. All in all, a productive week, even with a cockatiel walking across the keyboard and assaulting my mouse.
But first, I need to breathe some life into that VP design. Ick.
